"Going Bush" by Nadia Whaetley and Ken Searle
This book resulted from a Harmony project conducted by the authors with six children from eight Sydney schools. Journeying through the bush the children learned about the land and each other.
Themes explored are the harmony of the traditional owners of the land with their environment, the harmony of people with the environment, the benefits of friendship and collaboration.
The value of the experience is evidenced in the reflections and illustrations of the children coupled with Wheatley's rich text, Searle's illustrations and the photographs of the experience.
An excellent resource for Harmony Day.
